Lives on coral and rocky reef areas, where it feeds on calcareous sponges of genus Leucetta. It has the ability to import small spikes from its food source into its foot, which leads to its very rigid and hard body. This is quite a large species of nudibranch, bright yellow with variable amount of black patches. Can be sometimes seen laying a ribbon of bright yellow eggs.
