The juvenile is up to 5 cm in size and has a white base color with yellow spots, a black back and four white blotches, which start from behind their eye to tail. Found in reef areas. The adult has a grayish base color with a yellow to brown network pattern, and 3-4 alternating black and white blotches. They have a narrow tail and their size can be up to 60 cm. Found mostly in sandy bottom.
