Solitary, usually found bellow 20 meters among Goniopora hard coral colonies or among rubble. Can be distinguished from the other two Rhinopias species by paddle- like skin flaps above its eyes and on either side of its mouths resembling giant eyebrows and moustache. Usually stays in the same area for months even a year.
